Guest Speakers: Ann Medlock & John Graham, The Giraffe Heroes Project
Summary: Ann Medlock and John Graham, the longtime leaders of the Giraffe Heroes Project, a global nonprofit that for almost thirty years has been moving people to stick their necks outs for the common good, and giving them tools to succeed.
- Ann founded the Giraffe Heroes Project in part because she was fed up with the media’s focus on negative news. She wanted people to know about the real people making headway on serious problems through their courageous and compassionate action.
- The Giraffe Heroes Project develops and distributes programs for schools and youth organizations, helping kids from 5 to18 develop lives as courageous and compassionate citizens.
- In 2009 the Project launched Giraffe Heroes International (GHI), helping citizens solve difficult public problems in the developing world, from poverty to poor leadership. The initiative builds on the thirty years experience of the Giraffe Heroes Project to inspire and support courageous, compassionate citizen action.
- Visit www.giraffe.org to learn more or to sign up to receive the Project’s E-zine, “Heads Up,” focusing on Giraffe Heroes’ stories.
